Around games, a dungeon is the unsafe locality by having numerous hidden secrets to choose. E.g., around role-playing games like Dungeons & Dragons, castles will have dungeons with dozens of levels going hundreds of meters down, with deeper levels having progressively greater dangers and rewards. This metaphor hwhen be then commons that games built as much as this project come known (somewhat pejoratively) as dungeon crawls. A confined & strained nature and severity of a dungeon too simplifies the programming of computer role-playing games.
